ChicoNet had it's roots in a small web design, consulting and hosting company called 2interactive in 1997. We originally co-located a server at an existing ISP to provide web hosting service only.  At that time we did not even provide dialup internet services!  

In 2000 the company formed an LLC (2Interactive, LLC).  During this time local investors were acquired and the business was moved to a building owned by one of the investors on Cohasset Rd, which was one of the first data centers to have redundant cooling and power in the area. With the infrastructure in place we expanded into the Dedicated and Co-located Server markets.  We experienced rapid growth in the Dedicated Server and Co-location industry, expanding our network operations center and bandwidth and upgrading our equipment regularly.

Internet Service was started the same year; providing access to all of California by leasing phone lines in various areas of California.  This was a very easy upgrade to the existing network and facility which was and still representative of the areas most cutting edge technology. More investors became interested, and we experienced more growth into the emerging dialup market.

During 2003, ChicoNet formed an alliance with the now famous Digital Path Networks to offer its customers blazing fast broadband wireless access without phone lines and offer rural customers an option besides DSL.

In that same year ChicoNet moved into the newly built Chico Technology center, where its network operations are still located and still the most cutting edge data center in the region. Because of the distance from Chico and inconvenience for customers who wanted to meet in person a new downtown sales office was opened at 242 Broadway.

In 2005, ChicoNet partnered with SBC, now AT&T, to offer DSL service state wide! We are able to use AT&T's phone lines along with our ATM backbone to supply the bandwidth to our happy customers.

Keith O'Hara - Keith's responsibilities range from DSL provisioning and web development to project management and sales. He enjoys fishing, traveling and baseball in his off hours. 

Richard (Tony) Skaggs - With over 10 years of experience in the military as a computer specialist, Richard (or Tony as he is known by most) Brings his unique enthusiasm and flair for computer diagnostics and tech support to ChicoNet. His wide array of expertise includes everything from tech support to accounting and billing. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies, working on computers and spending time with his family.

Ben Rangel - Specializing in hardware maintenance and troubleshooting, Ben is head of support. Before coming to ChicoNet, Ben owned and operated his own computer repair company C&R computers for 5 years. He is currently attending CSU Chico with a major in Management Information Systems. In his off time, Ben likes fishing, gardening and making music.

August Germar - August serves as the network administrator; which includes maintaining and upgrading the many servers in our data center.  August began his relationship with the company as a hosting customer in 2001. He has over 7 years of web design and technical experience and has worked with many local Chico businesses. He also enjoys playing the electric bass and mexican food in his free time.

Dave Beecroft - Specializing in print design and brochure creation, Dave's responsibilities also include a range of areas from tech support to billing and collections. Dave is a Chico State graduate with a degree in geography. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, fishing, camping and Texas Hold 'em.
